Most Summerdale windshields are $250 to $450 fitted, with about an hour on the bay and a safe drive-away time on top that depends on the day's weather. Nearly everybody here is on Roosevelt Boulevard for part of the week, which is where most of the damage we replace comes from. Ring with the year, make and model and the price is agreed before you drive down, about fifteen minutes on the Boulevard or Oxford Avenue.

Roosevelt Boulevard is the reason this shop replaces as many windshields as it does. Twelve lanes with the inner drives separated from the outer, a constant flow of box trucks and tippers, and a kerb line that collects loose stone and holds onto it until the next vehicle picks it up and throws it. At Boulevard speeds a piece of aggregate off a tailgate does not leave a neat little star, it leaves a break with legs, and by the time you have come off at Oxford Avenue it has already grown. The rest of Summerdale is gentle on glass by comparison, but almost nobody here gets through a week without the Boulevard.
When you ring, the questions are about what is attached to the glass rather than the colour of the car. A rain sensor pad behind the mirror, a heated strip where the wipers park, an acoustic interlayer, a shade band, a camera bracket on anything reasonably new: each of those changes the part, and the wrong pane fits perfectly while leaving something on the dashboard that no longer works. Once the right glass is here the fit is the same every time. Old pane out cleanly, flange cut back, cleaned and primed rather than bonded onto old bead and rust, one continuous run of urethane, new mouldings, and a drive-away time given for that day rather than as a slogan.
“Very nice people working here! They quickly received my windshield and installed it! The gentleman that replaced the window was very careful and polite! I've been here a few times for window replacement and have never had a negative experience! And pricing is also very reasonable!”

Summerdale is close enough that most people drive in and wait, and far enough that nobody wants to make the trip twice. So the phone call does the work: year, make, model, and whether anything is looking through the glass behind the mirror. That gets the pane confirmed and often pulled off the shelf before you leave the house, which is the difference between two hours and two days. Coming down Oxford Avenue is usually calmer than the Boulevard at rush hour, and the shop is open six days a week from nine. If the crack already runs across the driver's view and you would rather not drive it at all, say so and the van comes to you instead.
Same service, same price, other Hunting Park neighborhoods:
Size and options, in that order. A small saloon with plain glass sits at the bottom of the range. What pushes a car up it is a large or steeply raked screen, an acoustic interlayer, a heated wiper park strip, a rain sensor, and above all a camera bracket, because that glass is made to a tighter optical standard. Vans and larger SUVs also carry more glass by area. Give us the year, make, model and trim and you get the actual number for your car rather than the range, before you drive anywhere.
The practical answer matters more than the legal one. Damage sitting in the area the wipers sweep in front of the driver is what gets a car failed at a Pennsylvania safety inspection and what draws attention on the road, and a crack that reaches the bonded edge means the pane is carrying load through a break. Beyond that, a crack does not hold still on Boulevard miles. Whatever the citation risk, the repair bill is fixed at $250 to $450 today and the crack is only going to get longer between now and whenever you deal with it.
