Wyoming is a commuter strip more than it is a destination, and the cars parked here reflect that. The Broad Street Line has a station at the western end of Wyoming Avenue, the bus routes along 5th and Rising Sun feed into it, and a large number of vehicles on these blocks are left standing from before eight in the morning until after six at night while their owners are somewhere else entirely. A car that is unattended for ten hours a day, every weekday, on a street where nobody knows whose it is, is the single easiest target for glass there is. That is most of what we fix from these blocks: rear door windows, quarter glass, the occasional windshield that somebody put a brick through for no reason anyone can explain.
The rest is the ordinary wear of a short-hop neighborhood. Wyoming Avenue itself is a bus route with the ruts and the crowned, worn surface that comes with one, and the cars using it are doing school runs, store runs and the drive to the station rather than long highway miles. Damage accumulates slowly and then fails suddenly on a cold morning. Wyoming Avenue is the axis, running east from Broad Street across 5th and Rising Sun toward Whitaker and the Boulevard, carrying buses the whole way. Its surface shows it: rutted wheel tracks, worn crown, sunken drainage at the intersections. The Broad Street Line's Wyoming station anchors the western end, which is why the blocks nearest it fill with all-day parkers. Rising Sun Avenue crosses on the diagonal and gives the area its awkward five-way junctions where nobody quite knows who has priority. Front Street runs down the eastern side toward us. The housing is dense rowhouse with steps to the sidewalk, no driveways and cars nose to tail on both curbs, so a space here is held, not chosen.

From Wyoming Avenue, take it east to Front, turn right and drive down past Luzerne and Butler to just below Erie Avenue, then turn west into the small streets, where N Lawrence is the narrow one between Front and 2nd. From the Broad Street end, 5th Street south to Erie Avenue and then east is the alternative if Front is backed up.
