Space is the whole story with mobile fitting. A windshield comes off a rack and has to be carried down the side of the vehicle and lifted over the hood, and the person doing that needs to be able to stand up straight without a passing mirror in the back of the head. Around the cleared blocks of the Logan Triangle, and on the wider streets running toward the Boulevard, there is usually enough frontage and curb space to do that comfortably, which is not true of a tightly parked rowhouse street two miles south. It means a Logan appointment can generally be booked with confidence rather than hedged.
What space does not fix is weather. A bonded windshield needs a dry pinchweld and an undisturbed hour for the urethane to reach strength, so rain moves the slot rather than changing the price, and a raw wet week is when the ten-minute drive to a roofed bay earns its keep. Side glass, back glass and chip repairs are much less sensitive: those are bolt-in work, or half an hour of resin with nothing to wait for afterwards, and they go ahead in conditions a windshield would not. Wind matters too, more than people expect, because grit blowing across an open bonding surface is the enemy of a clean bead.
